Accessibility Statement
Content in accordance with EU Implementing Decision 2018/1523
This accessibility statement applies to the website:
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the requirements set out in Annex A to standard UNI EN 301549:2018 (WCAG 2.1 Level AA) and the requirements of Annex A to the Ministerial Decree of 5 July 2005 (WCAG 2.0), due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reason:
- a) Non-compliance with Law of 9 January 2004, No. 4.
The site has undergone technical verification using both automated and manual tools (WAVE, axe, Lighthouse, NVDA).
16 total issues were identified, including 12 critical, 8 serious, and 1 moderate. There are no blocking barriers that completely prevent use, but some issues affect accessibility for users with motor and visual disabilities.
Key areas for improvement:
- Keyboard functionality (Success Criterion 2.1.1 – Keyboard) Some dynamic elements, such as the homepage slideshow, cannot be fully operated via keyboard. Planned fix: ensure all controls are accessible without a mouse and allow automatic animations to be paused.
- Accessible name and roles (Success Criterion 4.1.2 – Name, Role, Value) Some buttons and graphical controls do not expose an accessible name to assistive technologies. Planned fix: improve control descriptions for screen readers and assistive devices.
- Color contrast (Success Criteria 1.4.3 and 1.4.11) Some text has insufficient contrast against the background, particularly in orange and yellow sections. Planned fix: increase contrast between text and background to improve readability.
- Page language (Success Criterion 3.1.1) The page language attribute does not match the actual language of the content. Planned fix: correctly set the site’s primary language (English).
- Heading structure (Success Criterion 1.3.1) Some headings are not in a logical order. Planned fix: rebuild the heading hierarchy to improve navigation with assistive technologies.
- Landmarks and main regions (best practice – 1.3.1) Some areas of the page are not correctly identified as main sections (e.g., header, main content, footer). Planned fix: label sections with appropriate roles to facilitate navigation.
- Contact form (Success Criteria 3.3.1, 3.3.3, 4.1.3) Some required fields and error messages are not correctly announced by screen readers. Planned fix: improve the indication of required fields and error message handling.
Site languages
The site is available in one language (English).
The lang="en" attribute must be set at page level to ensure proper interpretation by assistive technologies. Any words or phrases in other languages should be marked with an inline lang attribute (e.g., lang="it").
